ROCK GIG GEEKS

MAGNUM in 2007 Richard Evans

When is a rock gig a true rock gig? The answer - when you not only see a legendary band perform live but also when you happen to meet the band having a quiet drink before the gig. This happened to me in Bristol 2007. Promoting their new album "Princess Alice and the Broken Arrow" Magnum performed a concert of epic proportions - new material mixed with classics made for an awesome show. But just before Bob Catley and co made you appreciate that Dragons Are Real it was an honour to shake hands with the masters Tony Clarkin, Mark Stanway and the afore-mentioned Bob Catley in the pub and be told to enjoy the show and thanks for coming. Nice guys, great show - this band would serve to be Professors in the Old Skool of Rock.
